Select Board approves police promotions and designates Shattuck Street 20-mile-per-hour zone

LITTLETON — Select Board advances two police officers to leadership roles and designates Shattuck Street as a safety zone. The board unanimously approved salary step adjustments for Mark Scola, advancing to Deputy Chief of Police at Grade 17, Step 7, and Patrick O'Donoghue, advancing to Police Lieutenant at Grade 15, Step 6. The board also unanimously approved the Police Lieutenants and Deputy Chief side letter, completing contract negotiations.
In a separate unanimous vote, the board designated Shattuck Street as a 20-mile-per-hour Safety Zone in response to traffic safety concerns from residents, citing the presence of a daycare, preschool, senior housing, and library on or near the street. Finance Director Robin Healy reported a projected $1.2 million deficit for FY28.
