LCTV director outlines funding gap, plans first telethon

LITTLETON — LCTV director says the station's cable-funded reserve could run dry after fiscal 2028, unveils first-ever telethon. Executive Director Mark Crory told "01460 On The Go" host Kyle Bupp that Littleton cable subscribership has fallen from 80 percent of households a decade ago to 39 percent today, cutting the station's PEG-fee revenue roughly in half even as health insurance costs rose more than 20 percent in three to four years. "And now our piggy bank is getting to the point where it's almost out," Crory said, adding LCTV expects to remain self-sustaining only through fiscal 2028.
The new nonprofit Friends of LCTV will host the town's first telethon Thursday, November 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Council on Aging, featuring performers, a phone bank, a silent auction and business sponsorships. Crory also announced LCTV plans to rebrand as Littleton Community Media.
