Littleton Sustainability Panel Sets Data Center Talking Points

Littleton Sustainability Committee preps its case ahead of the town's first data center working group meeting. Member Donald Maciver, who will represent the committee on the new panel, raised concerns about strain on the Littleton Electric Light Department, which also serves Devens and Boxborough, and cited a collapsed Tewksbury battery storage project where ISO New England's interconnection quote reportedly grew from roughly $65 million to $178 million. Members agreed any data center proposal should be measured against the town's Climate Action Plan, with one member calling it "the most practical way of saying, like, this is literally what we've said we were going to do." The committee also advanced a phased schools polystyrene ban after talks with new Health Director Kelly Callow, and discussed a potential municipal pesticide ban pending Board of Health alignment.
