Littleton School Committee Unanimously Appoints Vance to Finance Committee Seat
LITTLETON — June 27, 2024 — Littleton School Committee appoints Jonathan Vance to Finance Committee in unanimous 4-0 vote. The committee confirmed Vance, a consultant and acting executive director of ClearPath for Veterans on Devens, as its Finance Committee representative for a three-year term running June 2024 through May 2027, at a brief virtual meeting Thursday. Vance, who holds an MBA from Hult International Business School and a master's in data analytics, also sits on the town's Zoning Board of Appeals as an alternate and previously ran for Planning Board. Chair Justin McCarthy told Vance the schools account for close to half of the town's total budget and asked that he attend select budget meetings and "advocate for our budget," adding, "it's not a quid pro quo by any stretch of the imagination — you're highly qualified for the position." Member Janine pressed Vance on his lack of direct municipal finance experience; he acknowledged the gap and said he would "ask the right questions" rather than assume. Vance was directed to take his oath with Town Clerk Diane Crory before beginning his term.
