Littleton School Committee ratifies a 7 percent raise for paraeducators.
School Committee · Meeting of September 24, 2026
Littleton School Committee ratifies a 7 percent raise for paraeducators. The committee voted unanimously to approve the Littleton Paraeducators Association's memorandum of agreement, which extends the group's work year to 181 days and adds paid compensation when paraeducators are pulled to substitute for absent teachers. Member Justin McCarthy called the raise "well-deserved" but acknowledged it still trails pay in surrounding districts.
Separately, the committee gave first reading to six policies implementing the state's new Protect Act, signed by Governor Maura Healey, and heard the district has 1,656 students, 16 percent of them on individualized education plans. The superintendent, on the job only a couple of months, also flagged a recent uptick in middle school bathroom vandalism, prompting a member's suggestion of hallway cameras, and reported the district is preparing for an outside cybersecurity audit following ransomware attacks at other Massachusetts school systems.
