Littleton Planning Board Continues Two Development Hearings, Eyes May Decisions

LITTLETON — April 6, 2023 — Littleton Planning Board continues two development hearings and eyes June deadline for $9.5 million state water contract. At the April 6 meeting, the board unanimously continued public hearings for 265 Foster Street and 254-260 Ayer Road — both awaiting peer-review responses from Green International — to May 18, where decisions could be finalized. Town Planner Maren Tuxen reported that a same-day meeting with the state's MassWorks program put the town on track to sign a single contract combining a $1.5 million MassWorks grant and an $8 million legislative earmark by end of June, calling it "very exciting to see that coming together." The board also flagged that Sanctuary, a licensed cannabis operator, must apply to renew its Planning Board special permit by mid-August, giving the board a formal mechanism to address the facility's unresolved odor issue. Members agreed to invite Grimes Lane developer Guthrie to the May 18 meeting after noting that at least six of seven completed homes appear to have been sold — yet only $30,000 of a committed $70,000 in lot-closing payments has been received.
