Planning Board Opens Hearing on Five-Unit Bluebird Farm Cluster Development, Continues to July 9

LITTLETON — June 25, 2026 — Littleton Planning Board opens hearing on five-unit Bluebird Farm cluster development at 359 King Street. Attorney Cheryl Gould presented the proposal on behalf of owner-applicant Dwight Long, calling for two new ranch-style single-family homes and a rebuilt two-family barn structure on less than one acre, with approximately five acres preserved as open space under a conservation restriction. The board voted unanimously to continue the public hearing to July 9, pending completion of peer review by Green Haven and submission of a formal waiver list from the project engineer, who was abroad at the time of the hearing. One abutter, Steve Kalichman of Edsel Road, asked about soil conditions and the septic system design and was told testing showed all sand and gravel and that a chamber system is anticipated. In a separate informal update, Morgan Pearson of Licoley Companies previewed two upcoming submissions — approximately 84 deeply affordable senior housing units at 410 Great Road in partnership with Hebrew Senior Life, and a phase-two retail component including a grocery-scale anchor tenant and a drive-through bank — drawing board pushback on the anchor store's suburban parking-forward layout and requests for improved renderings at the July 9 meeting.
