Littleton Conservation Commission Votes to Advance Nagog Hill Farm Town Meeting Transfer Article

LITTLETON — September 10, 2024 — Littleton Conservation Commission votes unanimously to pursue Town Meeting transfer of Nagog Hill Farm parcel to conservation stewardship. The commission voted 7-0 Tuesday to advance a warrant article under MGL Chapter 40, Section 15A transferring approximately seven acres of 94 Nagog Hill Road — Assessor's Parcel R02-10-0 — to the commission for passive recreation, completing follow-through on a 2015 Special Town Meeting vote that was never formally executed. A separate unanimous vote appropriated up to $2,000 for Ross and Associates to survey the parcel ahead of Town Meeting. Chair Sarah Seward, who briefed the Select Board the night before, said the commission is "not interested in the buildings" on the remaining parcel. In tree policy deliberations, member Chase Kerbeck presented a payment-in-lieu framework based on diameter at breast height, with sample calculations yielding roughly $6,450 for a five-tree removal scenario, and the commission expressed strong consensus for a dedicated revolving fund rather than the general fund to hold replacement payments. The commission also opened a contested wetland delineation hearing for 550 Newtown Road, where neighboring property owners disputed a boundary that now places portions of their lots inside the 100-foot buffer zone; a site walk was set for September 16 with the hearing continued to October 8.
