Conservation Board OKs Gas Main, Presses Deck Redesign
Littleton conservation board approves gas main, balks at oversized deck.
Conservation Commission · Meeting of October 6, 2026
Littleton conservation board approves gas main, balks at oversized deck. The Conservation Commission voted 6-0 to let National Grid extend a gas main to 119 Taylor Street and later down-rate pressure from 200 to 60 pounds, conditioned on an erosion-control plan satisfying Conservation Agent Tim Pearson. Co-Chair Chase Gerbig told Shag Bark Drive homeowners Ken and Jody McDonald their proposed 419-square-foot deck rebuild exceeded the existing 400-square-foot footprint: "I would struggle to approve this with anything larger than the existing 400 square feet." That hearing, along with a continued review of the Shaker Lane Elementary School demolition and rebuild, was pushed to October 20, with a site walk set for October 13.
Gerbig also pressed the school project's design team on whether ball-field fertilizer use near wetlands had been factored into nutrient calculations.
