Littleton Conservation Commission Unanimously Backs Three CPC Grant Applications
Littleton Conservation Commission unanimously endorses three Community Preservation Committee grant applications in a 12-minute remote meeting.
LITTLETON -- February 17, 2026, Littleton Conservation Commission unanimously endorses three Community Preservation Committee grant applications in a 12-minute remote meeting. With both co-chairs absent, Clerk Andrew Sammarco presided over a four-member quorum, Sammarco, Ed Fultz, Michael Livingston, and Carl Melberg, on February 17. The commission voted 4-0 to support CPC funding requests for boardwalks at Webster Woods and Castle in the Trees and for terrestrial invasive species treatment at Hartwell, Yapp, and Newtown Hill; the two boardwalk applications were revised the same day to reflect lower-than-expected quotes. Sammarco praised the ADA accessibility component in both boardwalk designs and the $10,000 contingency allowance each carries "because you never know with the price of materials." The CPC was set to conduct its initial eligibility review the following evening. The commission also heard a preliminary update on a potential spring prescribed burn, with Long Lake Park, Newtown Hill, and Mary Shepherd identified as candidate sites pending post-snowmelt inspection by conservation staff and the Littleton Fire Department.
