Littleton Conservation Commission Ratifies Star Hill Tree-Clearing Enforcement Order Unanimously

LITTLETON — June 24, 2025 — Littleton Conservation Commission unanimously ratifies enforcement order against new Star Hill Road owners who cleared trees in a wetland buffer zone. At its June 24 meeting, the commission voted to ratify the order against 33 Star Hill Road, where owners Mark Gallagher Sr. and Mark Gallagher Jr. removed trees within the 100-foot buffer of a flagged wetland shortly after purchasing the property. A survey by Places Associates found three stumps within 75 feet of the wetland line and 32 additional stumps between 75 and 100 feet. Town-contracted consultant Amy Green will conduct a wetland delineation review, with a restoration plan to follow. The commission also approved a notice of intent with a waiver for a Bruce Street garage addition, issued a certificate of compliance with deviations for 26 Deer Run Road, and ratified an emergency beaver dam removal permit for Mill Pond. A Parks and Recreation proposal to install fee-based kayak racks on a Long Lake conservation parcel drew sharp opposition from multiple commissioners and a nearby resident, with one member stating he was "dead set against it."
