Littleton Conservation Commission Ratifies Enforcement Order, Closes Three Wetland Permit Hearings

LITTLETON — May 14, 2024 — Littleton Conservation Commission ratifies enforcement order against contractor who repeatedly defied stop-work instructions at 30 Warren Street. At its May 14 Zoom meeting, the commission voted unanimously to ratify the enforcement order against work at 30 Warren Street, where contractor Evan of Mayo Landscape and Design completed an unpermitted paver walkway and stonework within the wetland buffer zone after at least two verbal cease-and-desist instructions and a written enforcement order. Homeowner Casey Caldenberg of 44 Warren Street, who was kept out of the loop by his contractor, told the commission he personally removed debris — including carpets, pallets, and old window frames — from the backyard and did not understand the buffer zone boundaries. The commission directed Caldenberg to have a wetland scientist flag the resource area boundary in the field, develop a native replanting plan, and have erosion controls inspected by staff before the May 28 meeting, rather than requiring a formal survey. In the same session the commission closed public hearings and issued unanimous orders of conditions for a septic replacement at 19 Porter Road, three seasonal docks at Long Lake (MassDEP 204-1001), a porous paver beach path (204-1002), and the Cloverdale ADA trail (204-1000), while ordering a peer review of stormwater and well-placement issues on a proposed commercial building on Spectacle Hill Road before that file can advance.
