Littleton Board of Health Approves Two Septic Plans, Flags Food-Truck Compliance Failures

LITTLETON — August 27, 2025 — Littleton Board of Health approves two septic plans and hears of a lost state public-health grant. The board voted 4-0 at its August 27 meeting to approve a revised screened-in porch design at 4 King Road, where the applicant reduced the structure from 14 to 13 feet and eliminated a center footing to meet the board's five-foot septic setback, and 4-0 to approve a Presby Enviro replacement septic system at 34 Fletcher Lane, conditioned on Conservation Commission approval and addition of boots to both monolithic tanks. Health Agent Francis Dangle reported that New Oriental Market was denied a seafood dealer permit over inadequate equipment and a poor inspection history, and that food truck Rooster — operating at Farm 359 across from Town Hall — had its business license renewal placed on hold after ignoring repeated inspection requests. Dangle disclosed that a planned transfer of state Public Health Excellence grant funds following the town's July 2025 departure from the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health has been blocked by the state Department of Public Health, with no movement possible until fiscal year 2027 contracts — a loss the board called "pretty much a done deal" before DPH reversed course. Two fall vaccination clinics are scheduled for September 29 and October 21, with the Rotary Club donating up to $500 to cover costs for uninsured residents at the first event.
