Board of Health approves septic variance for 20 Orchid Drive accessory dwelling unit.
Board of Health · Meeting of September 9, 2026
Littleton Board of Health approves septic variance for accessory dwelling unit. The board voted 3-2 on September 9 to grant a variance under Regulation 27 allowing fill within 10 feet of a property line at 20 Orchid Drive, enabling the owner to upgrade the sewage system to serve both the existing three-bedroom house and a proposed one-bedroom, 806-square-foot ADU. Chair Kevin E Baker, Vice Chair Daniel Kane, and Clerk Elizabeth Donegan voted in favor; Members Matt Wayson and Kevin Davis opposed.
The applicant, represented by Dan Wolfe of David Ross Associates, cited space constraints as preventing compliance without the variance. The Board also approved prior meeting minutes from August 12 and August 26, and heard a presentation on Board authority and emerging health issues from Massachusetts Association of Boards of Health representative Michael Hugo.
