Building Committee advances Shaker Lane Elementary Design Development to MSBA

Shaker Lane Building Committee · Meeting of August 19, 2026

LITTLETON — The Shaker Lane Building Committee unanimously authorized submission of the elementary school project's Design Development package to the Massachusetts School Building Authority on July 24, 2026. Members voted to adopt a value engineering list addressing a $3.8 million overrun in the $85.5 million Design Development estimate, bringing the project into alignment with its $81.7 million construction budget. The committee appointed Superintendent Dr.

Michael Caira to the committee, approved a $5,280 HazMat services amendment to Studio G Architects, and approved $771,336 in invoices to design and construction managers for work through July. The Design Development submission represents the next critical step in preconstruction before bidding begins.
