LITTLETON — The Planning Board continued two public hearings affecting Littleton's development landscape. The board heard arguments on proposed zoning amendments to increase setbacks for accessory structures from 10 to 15 feet and to update the town's accessory dwelling unit bylaw to comply with state law. Chair Jeffrey Yates and Vice-Chair Daryl Kent Baker discussed whether the uniform 15-foot setback would disproportionately burden small quarter-acre lots.
Town Counsel Chris Heep noted legal constraints on setback flexibility and suggested a tiered system based on lot size might be permissible. The board also heard the Shaker Lane School site plan, featuring a two-phase project with new bus access and community amenities. Both hearings were continued to October 8, 2026, pending further analysis.
