Littleton Select Board recommends 32 Town Meeting articles, closes warrant process

LITTLETON — March 23, 2026 — Littleton Select Board and Finance Committee jointly recommend 32 articles for the May 5 Annual Town Meeting, including a $65.4 million budget. Meeting jointly Monday, the two boards adopted an updated Town Financial Management Policy — voted four to zero by each board — that adds a formal Capital Planning Working Group, a 14-step budget process, and expanded TIF/PILOT working group membership. Town Treasurer Robin Healy presented the FY2027 operating budget at a final positive balance of $8,570, recovered from a January deficit of more than $1.5 million through school budget reductions, operating adjustments, and insurance savings. Both boards voted four to zero to recommend the bulk of the warrant, including a $1,391,000 Capital Stabilization withdrawal for Fire Engine 2 replacement, while holding Articles 10, 26, 31, and 32 for further action at the March 30 meeting. The board also deferred the Orchard House surplus sale to a fall special town meeting, citing insufficient time to finalize deed restrictions before the April 1 warrant deadline.
