Littleton School Committee unanimously approves superintendent's two-year evaluation goals

LITTLETON — December 14, 2023 — Littleton School Committee approves superintendent goals and advances Shaker Lane school project. The committee voted unanimously Thursday to approve Superintendent Dr. Kelly Clinchy's 2023-2025 educator evaluation goals, which include a co-investigative research study of the CharacterStrong social-emotional learning program at the high school in partnership with Salem State University and ongoing implementation of Universal Design for Learning district-wide. Athletic Director Mike Landy reported football participation has fallen from 58 players in 2017 to 28 this past fall, and said no natural co-op partner is currently available, while a potential field hockey and volleyball exchange with Shirley is under active discussion. The committee also learned the district's owner's project manager for the Shaker Lane Elementary building project has been selected, with a designer RFP in preparation and a community feasibility study estimated to begin within several months. Three unanimous policy votes were taken, including rescission of policy BGG. A school committee appointment to the town's Financial Policies Working Group was deferred to January.
