Littleton School Committee Unanimously Accepts Superintendent's Performance Evaluation

LITTLETON — May 1, 2025 — Littleton School Committee unanimously accepts superintendent's evaluation, rating him exemplary on fiscal management. The committee, meeting May 1, accepted Superintendent John Henrikson Clancy's performance review as presented after a presentation by committee member Elaine, who redesigned the process to focus on four state standards and six measurable goals. The committee awarded Clancy its highest mark — exemplary — on fiscal systems, citing in-district special education programming that has reduced out-of-district costs, a healthy school choice fund, and collaborative budget relationships with town boards, while recommending he prepare for enrollment growth from new development and changes at the federal funding level. Curriculum presentations from three department coordinators highlighted a state genocide education grant supporting Facing History and Ourselves programming in the history department, 22 students earning the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy across Latin, Spanish, and Portuguese, and a high school STEM research program that has grown from one student in 2021 to 26 this year, with nine students presenting six projects at the April state science fair. The committee also recognized departing member Stacy at her final meeting for her leadership on the Shaker Lane building committee, and voted unanimously to enter executive session for non-union contract negotiations.
