LITTLETON -- May 16, 2023, Littleton Conservation Commission clears three compliance certificates and advances two wetland permits at May 16 Zoom meeting. Chair Kyle Maxfield led a four-member quorum through approval of certificates of compliance for 97 Mill Road, 24 Cooper Farm, and 22 Cricket Lane, all on unanimous roll-call votes, before issuing an order of conditions for a fence at 114 Taylor Street just 23 feet from delineated wetlands, requiring three native shrubs and three years of monitoring; member Sarah Seward cast the lone dissenting vote. The commission also unanimously approved a determination of applicability for a one-inch water service at 1 Foss Place, with written findings tied to an active enforcement-order restoration plan and a requirement that the decision be recorded at the Registry of Deeds. A continued hearing on a commercial stormwater project at 265 Foster Street was deferred to June 6 after commissioners determined that a roughly 25 to 30 percent expansion of the proposed infiltration basins, driven by higher-than-anticipated groundwater, warranted a new site walk, scheduled for May 23 at 5:20 p.m. The commission also gave informal unanimous backing to a Long Lake Neighborhood Association volunteer invasive-species removal program set to begin May 20, targeting multiflora rose, bittersweet, knotweed, and glossy buckthorn on town conservation land.
