LITTLETON — July 11, 2023 — Littleton Conservation Commission continued two wetland hearings and backed a lake invasive-plant harvesting plan it could not yet formally approve. At the July 11 meeting, the commission continued the abbreviated notice of intent for 5 Kaliber Road — where deck sonotubes sit roughly 26 feet from a wetland boundary — to July 25, directing the applicant to hire a wetlands scientist and engineer before any work proceeds. A proposed 4,000-gallon tight-tank septic replacement at 18 Ivy Road, approved by the Board of Health but lacking a MassDEP file number, was also held to July 25. On Lake Mattawanaki, commissioners expressed unanimous informal support for amending the existing drawdown order of conditions to allow echo harvesting of invasive milfoil and fanwort, but declined to issue a conditional approval pending a required Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program assessment due by July 27 — a delay that applicant Dave warned could cause the commission to miss this summer's narrow harvest window entirely. The commission voted unanimously to authorize submission of a land grant application for the Webster property, with a Thursday noon deadline, and issued a certificate of compliance for 254 Ayer Road.
