Littleton Conservation Commission Approves Hazard Tree Removals at Two Properties

LITTLETON — December 10, 2024 — Littleton Conservation Commission approves hazard-tree removals and a stalled conservation restriction at December 10 meeting. The commission voted unanimously to issue a negative 3 determination with bylaw waiver for Kelly Driscoll at 11 Edward Drive, authorizing crane removal of three hazardous trees — including a dead ash on Conservation Commission property — and separately voted 4-0, with one recusal, to issue an order of conditions for Bonnie at 24 Green Needles Road covering removal of eight hazardous pines under a safety waiver, with waddle erosion controls and a three-year planting monitoring period required. The commission also unanimously re-approved the long-delayed Hager Homestead conservation restriction, finalized after extended negotiations between the owner's attorney and the state Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs over homeowners association land structure. A notice of intent for a deck addition and renovation at 91 Matteroniki Trail was continued to January 7 after commissioners found the submitted plans did not reflect actual site conditions and called for engineering review of stormwater management. The next meeting is January 7, 2025, when commissioners also expect a restoration plan from a 15 Powers Road enforcement case and will review draft Community Preservation Act applications for invasive plant control and a Frog Pond cobblestone pathway.
