Littleton Board of Health Rejects Job Description Changes, Advances Health Director Search

LITTLETON — March 22, 2023 — Littleton Board of Health pushes back on job description revisions and budget cut for health director post. The board voted unanimously at its March 22 meeting to reject substantive changes to the Health Director job description returned by the Personnel Advisory Committee, authorizing only grammatical corrections to the version the board had previously approved. Member Matt Wason reported that a joint meeting of the Select Board and Finance Committee had redirected approximately $30,000 of a $150,000 budget line for the position to fill a different vacancy, leaving a salary of just under $95,000 for the health director role, and that neither he nor member Dan Kane had been recognized to speak for most of that meeting. "The fact that no one on this board was included in that meeting for discussion on an item that's solely ours is not cool," Wason said. The board also approved a 4-1 deed restriction at 14 Douglas Road capping the property at four bedrooms following a hearing on a 1,300-square-foot basement finishing project, with Kevin Davis casting the dissenting vote, and continued public hearings for both 6 Spectacle Pond Road and 107 Mattawanaki Road to the next meeting.
