Littleton Board of Health Approves Two Septic Upgrades, Continues Two Others

LITTLETON — April 22, 2026 — Littleton's Board of Health approved two septic upgrade projects and continued two others at its April 22 virtual meeting. The board voted 3-0 to approve a septic system upgrade at 10 Beaver Brook Road for owners Don and Joanne Lyon, accepting a two-foot groundwater offset reduction recommended by engineer Kirk Fitzpatrick of Civil Solutions, and approved a building permit at 100 King Street with a deed restriction for a four-bedroom home after updated plans confirmed one proposed room fell below the seven-foot ceiling threshold. The hearing on 0 Elm Road was continued after board member Kevin Baker cited missing documentation and the board's longstanding resistance to variances on new construction, while a public comment from abutter Kyle Man of 37 Dogwood identified a scale error in the retaining wall plan and a DEP offset of only 7.85 feet against a required 10 feet. The 21 Lake Shore Drive hearing was also continued after Chair Matthew Wason declared a heated, insulated garage "a room" for room-count purposes — a determination that could force the applicant to abandon the proposed basement foundation and redesign the project around a slab.
