Littleton Board of Health Approves Septic Variances for Two Tear-Down Rebuild Projects

LITTLETON — October 23, 2024 — Littleton Board of Health unanimously approves septic system upgrades for two long-troubled residential properties. The board voted 5-0 at its October 23 meeting to approve replacement septic plans for 181 Foster Street and 192 Hadouan Road, both tear-down-and-rebuild projects requiring Presby EnviroSeptic leach fields and reduced groundwater offset variances. Engineer Kirk Fitzpatrick of Civil Solutions, presenting remotely, said the Foster Street property has sat unoccupied for more than 20 years with a fully collapsed system, and won approval contingent on adding a drainage swale along the property line — a condition supported by the abutting neighbors at 171 Foster Street, who appeared during the public hearing. The Hadouan Road plan, brought on behalf of Kyle Mann of Mighty Small Trust, required a variance reducing the groundwater offset from five feet to three feet, avoiding the need for fill along multiple lot lines. Health Agent Francis Daigle reported 142 flu vaccines and 42 COVID shots administered at a clinic the prior evening, and announced plans for a community Narcan training during the week of November 18 alongside an application for a free naloxone distribution program. The board canceled its November 27 and December 25 meetings, consolidating its remaining fall schedule to November 13 and December 11.
