Littleton Sustainability Committee elects Charlotte Dolenz chair and pushes back on National Grid's gas facility plans. Dolenz, previously co-chair, won a 5-0 roll-call vote to succeed departing chair Sarah, while Ann Appleton joined as a new member and Margaret Gibbs continues as secretary. Members approved June 11 and June 25 minutes, the latter formally adopting the town's first Climate Action Plan, now posted in full on the town website.
The bulk of the meeting focused on National Grid's proposed temporary liquefied natural gas facility at 550 King Street, which member Elizabeth Donegan said has not returned to the Planning Board since April despite plans for a July 9 hearing. "I'm afraid that if we don't get ahead of certain things like noise complaints and whatnot, then slapping them with fines isn't really going to do anything for them," Donegan said, citing National Grid's push for a 10-year lease on equipment described as temporary.
