LITTLETON — August 11, 2025 — Littleton Select Board opens October 28 special town meeting warrant amid overflow concerns. The three-member board, sitting without members Karen Morrison and a second absent member, voted unanimously Monday to open the warrant for a special town meeting to be held in the Charles Forbes gymnasium at Littleton Middle School, closing the warrant at noon September 12. Resident Rob Brown of 25 Juniper Road, representing the Yes for Littleton PAC organized around the Shaker Lane school building vote, urged the board to designate the school cafeteria as overflow space and to announce that decision by mid-September, arguing that families with young children — central to any school vote — face real barriers to a late-night meeting. Chair Matthew Nordhaus said he would confirm with Town Clerk Diane Crory whether electronic voting clickers can operate simultaneously in two rooms, describing that as "the one item that was troublesome before." Town Administrator Jim Duggan reported that approximately nine draft articles are in development and that the town is budgeting for a 20 percent health insurance increase in FY27, on top of a 19 percent increase last year, with Duggan warning the board that a three-year cumulative increase could approach 50 percent.
