Littleton Select Board Approves Full Liquor License for Jennifer Street Convenience Store

LITTLETON — January 22, 2024 — Littleton Select Board upgrades a convenience store liquor license and advances cannabis and zoning policy in a wide-ranging January 22 session. The board voted unanimously to approve a full all-alcoholic beverage license for J Rom Audio Kabir Inc., doing business as Littleton Convenience at 12 Jennifer Street, upgrading from a beer-and-wine license held for eight years; attorney James Burke represented the applicants, and town departments including police and fire had endorsed the application. The board also authorized Select Board Chair Garrett Wilson to sign a letter to Governor Maura Healey asking whether 150 required MBTA Communities zoning units could be credited at 550 King Street rather than Foster Street — a move Wilson described as giving the town "another option" ahead of a May town meeting, with a warrant deadline of roughly March 15. On cannabis, Town Counsel briefed the board on a May 1, 2024, deadline to adopt a social equity policy and a draft model host community agreement released January 11 by the Cannabis Control Commission, with board members directing counsel to prepare comments on the model and return with the social equity policy as a standalone agenda item at the next meeting. The board also reclassified the assistant treasurer collector and payroll manager position from grade 14 to grade 15 and approved revised alcohol licensing policy language that references state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission procedures in place of the town's previous prescriptive text.
