Littleton Select Board Approves Energy North Liquor License at Ayer Road Site

LITTLETON — March 10, 2025 — Littleton Select Board approves Energy North liquor license, advances orchard lease, and debates converting town hall to affordable housing. The board voted 5-0 Monday to approve a wine and malt off-premises license for Energy North Inc. at 256 Ayer Road — the company's second attempt after a denial last fall at a site near a school — with alcohol sales running 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays, subject to ABCC approval. The board also voted unanimously to approve an intermunicipal agreement with Acton for a shared public health nurse beginning July 1, estimated at roughly $35,000 annually, and to appoint board member Karen Morrison as Littleton's representative to the Metropolitan Area Planning Council. Town Administrator Jim Duggan briefed the board on a proposal to declare 37 Shattuck Street surplus at the May 6 annual town meeting and issue an RFP for approximately 40 units of deeply affordable senior housing at 30 to 60 percent of area median income, but board members pressed for unresolved answers on sewer capacity, temporary office costs, and a path to a permanent town hall before any surplus vote; the board takes up a 36-article warrant jointly with the Finance Committee on March 24. State Representatives James Arciero and Senator John Cronin reported the governor's proposed Chapter 70 aid for Littleton at $5,139,175 and unrestricted aid at $894,522, and confirmed a $9.6 million Nashoba Valley Medical Center support request had drawn a request for financial documentation from the state Administration and Finance office the previous evening.
