Littleton Select Board Approves $2.54 Million King Street Infrastructure Contract

LITTLETON — January 27, 2025 — Littleton Select Board authorizes $2.54 million infrastructure contract for King Street Commons development. The board voted unanimously Monday to direct Town Administrator James Duggan to execute a $2,541,472 contract with Jay Dorenzo Company for public road and utility infrastructure at the 550 King Street mixed-use development, chosen from an unusually competitive field of 17 bidders against a $3.2 million engineer's estimate. The board also approved a new three-year peer review contract with Green International Affiliates, funded entirely by developer applicants rather than the town. In a joint session with the Conservation Commission, the board gave conceptual backing to a plan to subdivide and transfer a 7.9-acre parcel near Nagog Hill Orchard — featuring a pond, stream, and views of Nagog Pond — to Conservation Commission custody, directing staff to clarify the legal transfer process with town counsel before a spring town meeting warrant article is finalized. Public comment ran heated on the Nagog Hill Orchard lease, with Littleton Conservation Trust president Dustin Neil, 17 Lakeshore Drive, and several other residents urging the board to pause lease negotiations with prospective tenant Bransfield Tree Company and pursue alternative uses including a sale, citing a May 2024 town meeting vote that failed by three votes.
