Littleton Names Interim Police Chief Patterson as Pinard Retires May 1

LITTLETON — April 21, 2026 — Littleton Select Board names interim police chief, clears transmission-line excavation, and signs town meeting warrant. Meeting with only three of five members present — Vice Chair Matthew Nordhaus, Clerk Gary Wilson, and member Mark Rambacher — the board voted 3-0 to appoint Deputy Chief Jeffrey M. Patterson as Interim Chief of Police at Grade 21, Step 6, effective May 1, while approving a separation agreement amendment for retiring Chief Matthew Pinard that waives his 90-day notice requirement. The board also approved a $150,641 construction contract — lowest of four bids — with Monadnock Commercial Building Company for second-floor renovations at Town Hall, appointed Meagan Murphy as Director of Veterans Services on a structure running through June 30, 2026, and then a three-year term from July 1, and voted to approve an earth removal permit for New England Power Company to displace approximately 26,000 cubic yards of material along the Great Road transmission corridor. Town Clerk Diane Crory secured signatures on both the May 5 Annual Town Meeting Warrant — which carries a proposed $65,434,519 operating budget — and the May 9 election warrant, and advised residents that a Housing Authority seat is open for write-in candidates after Bartlett Harvey became the governor's designee.
