Littleton Approves Lead Pipe Grant Application, Snow Deficit Spending in Abbreviated Session

LITTLETON — March 13, 2023 — Littleton Select Board approves lead pipe grant application and snow deficit spending at March 13 meeting. Meeting with three of five members — Chair Anthony, Mark Rombacher, and Gary Wilson attending remotely — the board voted 3-0 on six consecutive items, including authorization for Water Superintendent Corey Godfrey to apply for a $174,000 state Clean Water Trust grant to fund a federally mandated lead service line inventory covering roughly 3,300 connections, with a compliance deadline of October 16, 2024. The board also authorized deficit snow-and-ice spending up to $650,000 against a $200,000 base appropriation, signed a $25,000 hazard mitigation plan contract with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, accepted a $2,000 Ed Walsh Foundation donation to the Parks and Recreation youth scholarship fund, issued a one-day liquor license to Dirigible Brewing Company for a March 31 library fundraiser, and adopted a state local option giving Middlesex County retirees a one-time cost-of-living increase from 3 percent to 5 percent on the first $16,000 of pension income, effective FY2026.
