Housing Trust Pledges $1 Million for Senior Project

Affordable Housing Trust · Meeting of September 22, 2026

Littleton Affordable Housing Trust pledges $1 million toward an 80-unit senior housing project. Chair Marianne Heer briefed the Select Board, Planning Board, Finance Committee and Community Preservation Committee on three active projects, including a planned Hebrew Senior Living development at 410 Great Road, where most units would serve households at or below 60 percent of area median income. The trust already holds $500,000 toward the commitment and is seeking town meeting authorization to borrow the rest if needed, though members expect to avoid an actual loan.

Heer called the trust's long-term goal "a sustainable solution for the low and moderate income families." Member Susan Melander called the presentation "excellent, excellent." The trust also approved minutes from two prior meetings and set its next meeting for Wednesday, October 21, projecting its cash balance will fall under $500,000 by the end of fiscal 2029 after covering the 410 Great Road and Durkee farmhouse commitments.
