Council on Aging · Meeting of October 19, 2026

LITTLETON — The Littleton Council on Aging approved its September minutes and staff reports while reviewing strategic-planning results and two affordable-housing projects. Staff reported 3,426 check-ins in September, the highest monthly total this year, with nearly 30,000 check-ins logged since January. A new sharps-disposal program, developed with the Fire and Health Departments, is expected to launch at the fire station after CVS stopped accepting needle disposals.

The board also heard that the Affordable Housing Trust's Durkee Farmhouse site, a five-acre parcel, could support a 30-bedroom septic system, while a Habitat for Humanity project is expected to finish by summer 2027 with $100,000 in trust funding. One board member said a regional comparison of Councils on Aging left her "shocked" that Littleton's own Friends group was seen as less supportive than peer towns, even as attendees were astonished to learn check-ins had grown by "120 percent."
