Littleton Wins Accessibility Grant, Touts Financial Planning Progress

LITTLETON — Littleton highlighted a new accessibility grant award and a favorable report on the town's long-term financial planning this week, while also reminding residents that in-person early voting is available ahead of the state primary.

The town announced a new grant, described on the town website as "Advancing Accessibility in Littleton," to support accessibility efforts, adding to a string of good financial news out of Town Hall. That follows Monday's announcement that the CrossTown Connect Transportation Management Association received a $96,690 grant to relaunch regional transportation programs, a story the town's News Flash also covered.

A newly released Massachusetts OPEB (Other Post-Employment Benefits) summary report shows Littleton "continues strong progress" on long-term financial planning, according to the town, referring to how the town manages its long-term retiree benefit liabilities.

Town Hall also reminded residents that in-person early voting is now open ahead of the state primary election, and the Littleton Police Department's student academy program is running this week, Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24.

COMING UP

Several town boards and committees are set to meet in the coming week. The Shaker Lane School Building Committee meets Wednesday, July 22, at 7 p.m. via Zoom, the same night the Board of Health meets virtually, also at 7 p.m.

The Board of Assessors meets Thursday, July 23, at 7:30 a.m. via Avaya, followed that evening by the Planning Board at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom.

The Select Board meets Monday, July 27, at 6:30 p.m. in Room 103 at Town Hall.
