Littleton School Committee Accepts Piano Gift, Unanimously Praises Superintendent Clinchy

LITTLETON — April 13, 2023 — Littleton School Committee votes unanimously to accept more than $10,000 in donated pianos and gives Superintendent Jason Clinchy a strong annual review. The committee accepted six electronic pianos and a baby grand piano from Indian Hill at its April 13 meeting, with all five members — Chair Justin McCarthy, Brad Austin, Stacey Scott, Jen Gold, and Bino Patel — voting yes on the 5-0 roll call. The formal evaluation, presented by Austin, rated Clinchy proficient in all categories and exemplary in school management and operations, data-informed decision making, and fiscal management, with the summary finding that Clinchy "earned the trust of the committee and the community." Two parents, Laurel Shaw and Maggie Buckley, used public comment to call for a second school resource officer, citing Chief Pinard's reported recommendation and what they described as Detective Wodzinski being "spread far too thin" across four buildings while also carrying detective duties; the budget subcommittee will investigate costs. Athletic Director Mike Lynn reported boys indoor track won the program's ninth state championship and that 100 percent of AP Calculus students who took last year's exam scored a three or above, with 23 of 29 earning a five.
