Littleton Park and Recreation Commission votes to advance director hire, hits snag on fishing dock. Commissioners unanimously authorized posting the long-vacant recreation director job, contingent on members first revising the draft description, with the acting director's contract running through Sept. 30. The board also approved a $4,450 Active Net Plus contract amendment tied to a USTA tennis-court grant near Wickham Field.
A Community Preservation-funded fishing dock on Lakeshore Drive, carrying roughly $57,700 in committed funds since 2024, faces new resistance from the Conservation Commission, which is reviewing about 100 dock violations on Long Lake. "I'm not so certain that ConsCom is going to be as ready to say, okay, go with it," the acting director told the board. The town also nearly forfeited $1,000 of a $15,000 United Way grant after missing a June 30 reporting deadline, recovering it only after last-minute outreach.
