Littleton library trustees adopt two rewritten policies, weigh low-key fifth anniversary. The Reuben Hoar Library Board of Trustees voted 6-0 to approve updated Borrowing Privileges and Houghton Historical Room policies at its July 30 meeting, and unanimously approved June 11 minutes 5-0 with one trustee abstaining. Treasurer Katrina reported a fourth-month fund value of $1,970,724.54 and an MBLC grant balance of $686,044, saying the board's $40,000 annual trust draw remains "on goal." Library Director Sam said overdue-material escalation language, set by the 36-library MVLC consortium, "is not something that actually happens in real life," noting only one police referral in 11 years.
Trustees leaned toward a modest, signage-and-social-media marking of the library building's five-year anniversary in November rather than a standalone event, potentially timed to the public release of a revised strategic plan.
