LITTLETON — November 28, 2023 — Littleton Conservation Commission unanimously approves boat shed permit, issues negative determination for septic replacement, and continues three major infrastructure and environmental permit cases. At the November 28 meeting, the commission issued a certificate of compliance for 32 Middlesex Street and a negative determination for a septic replacement at 18 Mill Lane, both without opposition. It approved a notice of intent for repair and replacement of a boat shed at 69 Mattawanaki Road — DEP No. 204-994 — after applicant Karen and contractor Sal revised demolition access plans to use wheelbarrow removal and a staged dumpster following unresolved abutters' permission issues. The commission continued the Boston Gas Mill Road gas main replacement to December 5, flagging outstanding questions about pipe-cleaning waste disposal and whether biodegradable hydraulic fluids are feasible given the crossing's proximity to Mill Pond. Two recusals — Chair Andrew citing a professional relationship with Boxborough and member Chase Kirby citing a family connection to the water department — left only four eligible voters for the town's new well and water supply connection project, continued to December 19, with a tree survey of all affected trees eight inches and larger now required before the commission can advance it.
