Littleton conservation board issues two wetlands permits, seeks lake funds
Conservation Commission · Meeting of August 18, 2026
Littleton conservation board backs $118,000 in lake herbicide funding, two wetlands permits. The Conservation Commission voted unanimously to seek $48,000 for Long Lake and $70,000 for Forge Pond aquatic herbicide treatments through the Community Preservation Committee, with Westford splitting the Forge Pond cost. Members closed hearings and issued orders of conditions for the Spectacle Pond boat launch rehabilitation and the 2A Cataldo Pondway portable LNG facility, rejecting engineer Sam Kifferstan's request to drop a town pesticide-use condition while member Michael J.
Livingston recused himself from the LNG vote. Commissioner Edward Fultz called the facility's security fence "pretty much putting up a wall" against wildlife. The board also opened review of a more-than-100,000-square-foot replacement for Shaker Lane Elementary School, continuing that hearing to September 8 pending refreshed wetland flags and a wildlife survey.
