LITTLETON — February 28, 2024 — Littleton Board of Health advances two septic hearings and debates formalizing a materials submission deadline at its February 28 meeting. The board voted 4-0 to accept, in principle, a single document combining a Title V waiver and shared system operation-and-maintenance agreement for two properties — 23 to 31 Stephen Street and 1 Adams Street — that have shared one septic system since the late 1950s, with $60,000 in attorney-held escrow for remediation and a projected June 2025 sewer tie-in; the agreement goes to Town Counsel before taking full effect. In a second 4-0 vote, the board granted three variances for a septic upgrade at 16 Cedar Road, including permission to use two-piece poly infiltrator tanks in lieu of monolithic concrete, after Health Agent Jim Griffey confirmed the tanks are DEP-approved and sealed in the field on inspection.
