CrossTown Connect Wins $96,690 Grant to Relaunch Regional Transit Programs
A nearly $97,000 state grant to CrossTown Connect Transportation Management Association headlines today's news, arriving as the town simultaneously presses ahead with a road-preservation campaign and reports continued progress paying down its long-term retiree-benefit obligations.

CrossTown Connect TMA has received a $96,690 grant to relaunch regional transportation programs serving the Littleton area, the town announced Wednesday morning. CrossTown Connect is the TMA that coordinates commuter and community transportation options across several MetroWest and northern Middlesex communities, and the infusion of funds is intended to bring back programs that had gone dormant.
The town also updated residents on the pavement preservation and reclamation project that began Monday, June 22. The work is ongoing — drivers should expect lane restrictions and detours on affected streets as crews continue through the week.
Separately, the town released its Massachusetts OPEB Summary Report, noting that Littleton continues to make strong progress on long-term financial planning. OPEB — Other Post-Employment Benefits, primarily retiree health insurance — represents one of the larger unfunded liabilities municipalities carry; the town's report signals it is managing that obligation ahead of many peers.
