LITTLETON -- Littleton School Committee members got an early look at the fall sports season during Superintendent Mike's first report of the 2026-27 school year, delivered at the panel's Sept. 10 meeting.
HIGH SCHOOL -- The superintendent said he has "been able to catch a few games so far," noting that Littleton's field hockey team "was tied one to one yesterday against Clinton" and that the girls soccer team "has a couple of wins including a big win today." He also introduced new athletic director Rich Thornton, who has raised with the superintendent "the potential need for an athletic trainer, a full-time athletic trainer," after the district's partnership with Emerson Hospital "no longer exists." The superintendent said keeping student-athletes safe is now a topic of ongoing discussion among administrators.
TOWN -- The running track at Russell Street Middle School is "conditionally cleared for use" after resurfacing work, with striping expected "by mid-September," the superintendent told the committee. The track at Shaker Lane School is already "ready to go." The superintendent noted public interest in using the resurfaced track for walking, saying a resident recently mistakenly believed it was still closed.
