Littleton Select Board sets FY26 residential tax factor and closes town hall for day after Thanksgiving.
LITTLETON -- November 3, 2025, Littleton Select Board sets FY26 residential tax factor and closes town hall for day after Thanksgiving. The board voted unanimously Monday to adopt a minimum residential factor of 0.892959 for fiscal year 2026, slightly increasing the share of the property tax burden shifted to commercial, industrial, and personal property compared to last year's factor of 0.89256. Chief Assessor Kathy Miller reported the average single-family home value rose 10.86 percent to $770,356, and that the town's total assessed value reached approximately $3.452 billion. The board also ratified the sale of an $11.125 million general obligation bond for the senior center project to Huntington Securities at a true interest cost of 3.2918486 percent over 20 years, with the project coming in at $12.05 million against a $13.5 million authorization. Chair Karen Morrison cited anticipated sewer betterment charges on commercial properties as one reason to "cut them a little bit more slack this year." In a separate unanimous vote, the board granted town employees the Friday after Thanksgiving off and directed staff to update the employee handbook to reflect the policy, with the day-after-Christmas question deferred to a future meeting.
