Littleton Conservation Commission Backs $30,000 Frog Pond Invasive Plant Bid

LITTLETON — January 21, 2025 — Littleton Conservation Commission unanimously backs $30,000 invasive plant grant and promotes its own assistant to senior agent. Meeting Tuesday, January 21, the commission voted 5-0 to support a Community Preservation Act application for a three-year invasive species management program at Frog Pond, with contractor quotes coming in "in the mid- to high-20s" and a contingency bringing the total to roughly $30,000; a separate walkway application will follow. The board also voted 5-0 to recommend Tim Pearson, currently the part-time conservation assistant, as the department's new senior conservation agent, filling the role being vacated by longtime agent Amy, who is retiring. Chair Chase Kerby told Pearson the commission expected him to "communicate what you need in terms of your career growth and development," acknowledging that near-term consulting costs are budgeted to cover the transition gap. A separate enforcement matter at 15 Powers Road was continued two weeks after the property owner failed to appear; members indicated that a resumption of violation tickets is likely if no documented progress is shown at the February 4 meeting.
