Littleton Conservation Commission Approves Deck Permit Near Wetland With Stormwater Conditions

LITTLETON — March 18, 2025 — Littleton Conservation Commission advances deck permit near wetland, frog pond walkway funding, and Nagog Hill land transfer in unanimous votes. The commission voted unanimously Tuesday on four formal actions at its March 18 Zoom meeting, approving a stormwater-conditioned notice of intent for homeowner Mark Eastman of 91 Mattawanaki Trail to add a covered deck within the 50-foot wetland buffer zone, with a required infiltration trench and crushed-stone overflow bed plus post-storm reporting after any one-inch-or-greater rain event. The commission also unanimously approved a Community Preservation Act application for reconstruction of the Long Lake Frog Pond walkway — a project members called long overdue despite "sticker shock" at an estimated erosion control cost alone of roughly $5,000 — and reaffirmed its interest in taking care, custody, and control of Nagog Hill Road Lot 107A, scheduling a formal public hearing for a likely April 8 meeting after resident Rob Rounds warned the commission needed to more visibly solicit public input before the Select Board would act on a surplus declaration.
