Littleton Conservation Commission Advances Frog Pond Rehab, Issues Compliance Certificates

LITTLETON — July 22, 2025 — Littleton Conservation Commission advances Frog Pond stormwater wetland rehabilitation, sets July 30 site walk. The commission voted unanimously on five separate matters at its July 22 meeting, with the most substantial new business being a notice of intent filed by Director of Public Works Steven Yale and Tata & Howard engineers Gene Christie and Maria Johnsonberg to dredge 99 cubic yards of accumulated sediment — measuring 3 to 23 inches deep — from the town's constructed Frog Pond wetland, which has not been maintained since it was built around 2002 and filters runoff before it reaches Long Pond. Commissioners pressed the design team on sediment management, storm-event protocols, and stockpile drainage before setting a site walk for July 30 at 5 p.m. and continuing the hearing to August 5. The board also voted unanimously to issue a certificate of compliance for 16 Middlesex Drive, lift an enforcement order at 30 Warren Street following successful native plantings, ratify an enforcement order at 3 Sarah Indian Way, and close the hearing and issue an order of conditions for a garage expansion at 76 Hartwell Avenue (DEP 204-1021).
