Littleton Commission Approves Water Supply Order of Conditions 6-1

LITTLETON — September 24, 2024 — Littleton Conservation Commission votes 6-1 to approve order of conditions for town water supply project. The commission closed the public hearing Tuesday on the Littleton Water Department's two-contract project to connect the Tremble well at 153 Taylor Street to the town's treatment plant and extend a water main along Wickham Avenue into Boxborough, Mass. DEP 204-0995. Water Department representative Matt Silverman reported 2,394 square feet of permanent wetland alteration at the well station and 13,547 square feet of temporary riverfront area impact along the pipeline corridor, and outlined a 20-condition Conservation and Management Permit from the state Division of Fisheries and Wildlife requiring phased Blanding's turtle nesting habitat creation before and after pumping begins at 184 gallons per minute. Ed Fultz cast the lone dissenting vote. Separately, the commission gave property owner John McGagan of 15 Powers Road two weeks to produce engagement letters from a professional wetland scientist and engineer — with completed restoration plans due November 12 — or face resumption of daily fines under an active enforcement order.
