Historical Commission plans anniversary picnic, advances marker project

LITTLETON — Historical Commission backs July 4th anniversary picnic and historic marker project. The Commission agreed to continue sponsoring Littleton's July 4th community picnic marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence at Fay Park, with setup at 10:30 AM and programming at noon. Funding includes $1,500 from the Littleton Rotary and $750 from the Littleton Cultural Council.
Members advanced work on a Community Preservation Committee application for historic marker base replacements, with Andrew Bowers and Kristopher Dalen tasked to confirm final delivery pricing on seven granite bases before submission. The Commission will promote the July 4th event during Patriots' Day observances on April 19.
