Shaker Lane School Building Committee · Meeting of October 21, 2026

LITTLETON — The Shaker Lane School Building Committee elected Sean Ahern as chairman and Mike Kyra as vice chair, then approved $26,870 in contract amendments for hazardous materials testing. The panel unanimously approved a $15,950 not-to-exceed Studio G consultant amendment for EFI Global hazmat testing and site staking, plus a separate $10,920 contractor proposal from Stanley Roofing and Select Demo for roof coring and interior material sampling. A project team representative said the goal was to "quantify and identify" hazardous materials "so we avoid any surprises and potentially massive change orders." Officials confirmed Shaker Lane's athletic fields will stay open to youth sports until July 1, 2027, when site enabling work begins.

The Massachusetts School Building Authority has paid the district $1,129,532 of $2.6 million submitted so far, with $1,045,800 still pending beyond the agency's typical 30-to-40-day reimbursement window. The committee also approved invoices for Studio G, Gilbane and Turner Townsend Harry by unanimous roll call.
